ACHS announces two new, fully online bachelor degree programs in holistic health enrolling for the spring 2018 term (starting January 8th) — Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nutrition and Bachelor of Science in Integrative Health Sciences.

American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) today announces two new, fully online bachelor degree programs in holistic health enrolling for the spring 2018 term (starting Jan. 8) — Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nutrition and Bachelor of Science in Integrative Health Sciences. ACHS’s bachelor degree programs were approved by the Oregon Office of Degree Authorization of the Higher Education Coordinating Commission in August 2017 and are the first bachelors offered by the college. ACHS, found in 1978 and an industry leader in accredited integrative health and wellness education, also offers online undergraduate and graduate certificates, diplomas, associates, and masters degree programs, in addition to the new bachelors.

Approval to offer the new online holistic nutrition bachelor degree and integrative health sciences bachelor degree is a milestone for ACHS. These programs provide much-needed, comprehensive professional education in the holistic nutrition and integrative health modalities. There are few accredited, integrative health programs in the United States that provide students with both evidence-based curriculum and experiential learning in these areas, empowering graduates to make a positive impact on their personal health and wellness and the communities they serve.

Our new Bachelor of Holistic Nutrition and Bachelor of Integrative Health Sciences impart these integral skills and provide a highly experiential health and wellness education. We are very excited to offer ACHS students these new programs and will continue to educate health and wellness leaders of the future.

Dorene Petersen, ACHS President and Founder

The bachelor degree offering also creates an important pathway for students to continue their studies in integrative health and wellness. Specifically, graduates of ACHS Associate of Applied Science degree programs can now continue their education towards a bachelor degree and potentially a graduate certificate or masters degree.

“The holistic health industry needs qualified, trained professionals with a comprehensive foundation in the health sciences and soft skills including business, marketing, and ethics training,” says Dorene Petersen, ACHS president and founder. “Our new Bachelor of Holistic Nutrition and Bachelor of Integrative Health Sciences impart these integral skills and provide a highly experiential health and wellness education. We are very excited to offer ACHS students these new programs and will continue to educate health and wellness leaders of the future.”

The ACHS Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nutrition (BSHN) is a four-year (full-time, post-secondary study) program where students learn to integrate modern science with holistic nutrition principles using a hands-on approach to learning, including practical lab kits. BSHN students gather and evaluate nutritional information and develop custom protocols for individual clients and communities within state licensing requirements. A full list of general education, core science, nutrition, and elective courses / requirements is available at achs.edu/program/bachelor-science-holistic-nutrition.

The ACHS Bachelor of Science in Integrative Health Sciences (BSIHS) is a four-year (full-time, post-secondary study) program where students learn to integrate modern sciences with holistic health and wellness protocols and to prepare natural products using practical lab kits, develop wellness plans, and educate others on a wide range of wellness topics. BSIHS students embrace the philosophy of holistic health encompassing the whole person — mind, body, spirit — while developing diverse perspectives on wellness and creative problem solving to support wellness. A full list of general education, core science, integrative health sciences, and elective courses/requirements is available at achs.edu/program/bachelor-science-integrative-health-sciences.
